The rectangular mates come in many different sizes so you can select one depending on the amount of space you have. A lipped mat allows you to put the smaller lipped edge slightly under your desk so that you can sit closer without your chair rolling off of the mat. Again these are available in a variety of sizes so you can select an option that fits the space you have available.
