The application moves away fromtraditional control panels and buttons and replacesthem with a highly intuitive graphic user interface. Allfunctions are controlled from a single window makingthe software suitable for touch screen operation. Thesoftware features on-screen help in most majorlanguages.User interfaceThe user interface is based on a graphicalrepresentation of the conference venue. When adevice is connected to the system it is automaticallyrecognized and an icon is created for it on the onscreenroom layout. The icons display informationabout device status and can be used by the operatorto select individual devices for remote controlfunctions. If a device becomes disconnected from thesystem a red cross is displayed on top of its icon toalert the operator.Operating modesThe Synoptic Microphone and Voting Software canoperate in the following modes depending on therequired task:andbull; Assignment mode allows you to assign names tomicrophone icons.
