Quick and easy ways to brighten your work space
We all know that nothing is worse than having a long day of work spent at a gloomy desk, longing for the sweet release of jumping into bed with Netflix awaiting. However, those office hours must be done, so why not at least try and make your desk a somewhat delightful place to be just to make that 9-5 a little more bearable.
Try your hand at DIYs
DIYs are a great way to spice up any kind of environment and let you truly personalise your space. There are plenty that can be incorporated into work, for example, creating personalised pen-pots by using tape, paint, household items, or anything you can think of! Or, you could try colour coding you stationery or desk items to add a flare to them.
Plants
Small desk plants can be a cute and fun way to literally bring some life to your work space. Flowers can be very pretty and delightfully pungent but they can die and whither quite quickly if not kept in an ideal space but a more sustainable alternative is something like a small cactus plant or aloe vera. They do not require much more attention than a bit of water every now and then and still add an eyecatching splash of colour.
Art and photography
If you’re one of the lucky ones that has a window view from your desk then your day is already a little bit better than the rest of us who look upon 4 walls and have to stretch for a view of the outside for 8 hours a day. So if you do find yourself trying to find new things to look at to stimulate your brain, try adding some art or photos in decorative frames to entice your eyes when you start thinking about how long it’s been since you saw the sun. Photographs and art can be personal or generic which allows your imagination to run wild while your body can’t.
