Ways To Keep On Top Of A Heavy Workload
It’s always nice to encounter a little challenge now and then to keep your mind active, but there is a considerable difference between keeping busy and being overworked. Hard work pays off so long as you go about it the right way about it and put your health first to avoid stress. Here, we have compiled a small list of tricks to maintain your sanity as best as possible in stressful times.
To-do Lists And Checklists
Creating lists is a great way to keep track on upcoming tasks as well as helping you remember what has already been completed. They are a great because you can create them to suit you and catch your eyes as a constant reminder.
Sticky Notes
Sticky notes are one of the best accidental inventions because they are incredibly versatile. They can help you make quick notes to dispose of in 3 minutes or a checklist to last a whole month, and can be stuck on a notebook or desktop monitor to ensure they catch your eyes.
Deadlines
Self-imposed deadlines are great because they have the ability to be a bit more lenient than one given to you by a manager etc. However, you should always try to stick to them as best as you can but in a stress free way. They are useful to ensure that you are not spending too much time on one piece of work and then running behind on other pieces. This way, you can work a little on each task to stay on top of them all at once.
Take Regular Breaks
Taking breaks helps to keep morale up as well as motivation. It can also help to alleviate built-up tension to avoid you becoming grumpy and stressed out for the rest of the day. Breaks can be anything from stopping to go over your progress so far or a trip to the kitchen for another cup of coffee.
